Recent Performance

Kangaroo has been hopping along very nicely, closing out the tumultuous 2011 year with over 100% return, despite hitting a couple of stoplosses in May/June.

This means you could have doubled your account running just Kangaroo on default settings…!

On a side-note: The stoplosses were due to speeches during volatile times and when markets were in a turmoil in the EUR crisis. We’ve added these speeches in the newsfilter since version 6.4. You can get the latest version on our user forum.

Anyway, since version 6.4 Kangaroo has been a very nice performer, see our stats on our live account below. Click the graph to view more details on Kangaroo’s performance.

Brokers can have a large impact on your results, as we have described on our blog. When running Kangaroo, we have seen good success using one of these brokers:

• PepperStone
• The Collective FX
• FinFX

All three brokers have a few things in common: raw pricefeed, high tickspeed and offer ECN-like features. If there are other brokers out there who offer good performance, let us know on the user forum or on ourFacebook page.We suggest running Kangaroo on high quality brokers only, and avoid micro (cent) accounts, direct dealing desks, and fixed spread brokers.

Reactivation of licenses

We’ve received a lot of requests from our clients who wish to reactivate their licenses. As posted on the user forum, we’ve decided to waive the reactivation fee and reactivate each license at no charge.

Note: Once your license is activated again, make sure it’s run on the account you’ve associated with your license. You can change your account anytime via the user forum.

EUR Risk and Risk Settings

As most of you know, we have not been running Kangaroo on EURUSD since June 2011. We continue to only run KangarooEA on AUDUSD, which we feel is stable and -relatively- safe. We advise to be careful with the EURUSD pair, and will post our opinion on the pair on facebook and the forum. We’re not sure when the EURUSD market will stabilize but will keep monitoring the pair closely with regards to Kangaroo. For now we advise: Keep the EURUSD Roo on the sidelines.

Note: When running Kangaroo on a live account, please do so at limited risk. The power of earning money in forex (and even make a living doing so) is portfolio management. Diversification is key and the path to success. As a quick refresher: Running Kangaroo at its default risk (5) means your maximum drawdown will be around 18% should Kangaroo hit a stoploss. Rule of thumb: multiply the risk setting by 4 to get an idea of max possible DD.
