Re: TulipFX introduces Managed Account service.
Hi Ozzie & Dutch,
Are you planning to add an introduction page to the main website on your MAM? I'd like to persuade my Dad to invest, but he'd likely respond better to a layman's publicity page than a thread like this or the myfxbook page.
Cheers.

Re: TulipFX introduces Managed Account service.
Hi tzk,
Yes, we do. We didn't just go and do one because we wanted to do some 'market research' first - find out what people wanted to know about and what points we needed to address, or forgot.
Now we just have to find time to do it
but that is the plan - to have a page on the main website.

As many of you know - me personally I don't have the emotional fortitude to do manual trading. Trading your own money is one thing, trading significant funds of others is another thing again.
With automated trading we can do historical testing - allowing us to control the risk with great confidence.
So emotion is removed and historical risk can be assessed. That is why we only trade using algorithmic systems.

If anyone can trade like an EA, I know I will not play poker with you

Btw, I just found something and reported it to myfxbook. I will mention it here, since it's directly on the topic of monthly returns.
So, when selecting all history, the monthly return is 4.19%.
But when dividing the history in two parts, until 12/01/2011 the monthly return is 3.51%, and from that date the return is 0.65%.
But you cannot combine two periods, one with 3.51% average per month, and another with 0.65%, and get an average of 4.19%...
Looking at the returns shown for each calendar month, it looks like the 3.51% value does not match the rest (should be higher).
The support from myfxbook was always careful with such requests, and investigated them until the fixed them.
Quick update: This is the first time I had to follow up with myfxbook and explain multiple (3) times where the discrepancy is. I'm sure they have a math error somewhere in there, so I will not give up until they fix it, for everyone's benefit (I like their stats a lot, so I'm glad to report issues when I find them, making their system one tiny bit better).
In summary, my claim is that they show a 3.48% monthly return for the period Jul 1st 2011 -> Dec 1st 2011, but that should instead be 7.66%. I'll update this thread when the issue is resolved, since I believe everyone here will benefit from having an accurate picture of the MAM account performance (by the way, it looks like the monthly return for the MAM since started is correct, it's only when selecting a partial period that you get incorrect values).

Re: TulipFX introduces Managed Account service.
Ok, myfxbook support explained the issue to me. It looks like a bad design, leading to confusion, but at least it's not a math error somewhere deep in the system.
The monthly calculation assumes you've traded until today, so the end period isn't the custom analysis end time but always today, so from end of June until today is 11 months which is why you get a lower number.
In closing: the MAM performance still looks great, just ignore the monthly averages for custom periods.

That is a very strange design choice indeed. Thanks for figuring that out, kudos to you.

Re: TulipFX introduces Managed Account service.
After getting caught early on Monday with the retrace on the EUR gap we are happy to report 1.22% for the week (2.66% for May so far).

Re: TulipFX introduces Managed Account service.
Hi,
Very 'tricky' question because it's so subjective. I am just about to buy Kangaroo and set-up a Pepperstone account to run it on but the idea of a MAM really appeals as I do not have the time I should like to keep in touch with everything Forex. I also realise that relying on one EA is not really sensible because things ebb and flow and diversification is a very good thing. The question is I can afford to set up a MAM but not Kangaroo as well - so I assume with the MAM I have no licence for Kangaroo to buy (as it is your licence), no VPS fees (understood) and so the 'only' cost to me is your fee as any broker commissions are down to you?
I know some of these have been answered but it is always better (for me at least) to have all answers in one place.
This sounds just what I need - without me messing it up!
Thanks
